One way to get new customers without spending a lot on advertising is to offer new products. You can’t expect to attract new customers if you advertise the same old ways, and have the same old products. Offering a new product opens up your customer base some.
So, how can you do this without spending a lot? Developing and advertising new products can be very costly, so how does this work as a low cost option for getting new customers? You need to assess your current capabilities, and look for ways to expand them without incurring a lot of cost. For example, if you own a bakery, you could offer a new sweet, like peanut butter cookies in addition to chocolate chip. If you sell a diet program, consider creating a support program to add to it. You want to add a product that will not only be cheap to add, but that will also be useful to your current customers. This way you retain business, but also attract new business.
Another example is let’s say you sell scrapbooking supplies. Consider selling premade pages as well. You now appeal to those that want to do their own scrapbooking, as well as those that want to have a scrapbook, but do not want to take the time to make their own.
New product lines open the doors to new customers. When you offer a new product, you can advertise the way you already advertise, and use the web to promote your new product line as well.
